Work Experience 

Prior to Elevon Law, Dan held senior executive officer positions for 7 years in the interactive entertainment industry.

  • Most recently, he served as General Counsel at Pocket Gems, Inc., a developer and publisher of mobile games that was funded by Sequoia Capital and Tencent, managing all of the company's legal matters.

  • Prior to that, he served as General Counsel at PlayNext, Inc., a mobile and PC games company with substantial global operations in the U.S., Japan, Korea, Germany and Brazil.

  • He was also PlayNext's Vice President of Corporate Development, heading up the company's corporate and business development functions.

  • Further, he founded and served as General Manager of eSportsPlus, one of PlayNext's startup business units, which developed and launched one of the earliest fantasy eSports mobile apps.

 

Prior to the interactive entertainment industry, Dan's diverse experience in other businesses enabled him to develop a uniquely broad range of expertise. 

  • As Associate General Counsel at eHealth, Inc. (Nasdaq:  EHTH), an e-commerce platform and software-as-a-service provider for health insurance companies, he led all of its technology licensing and commercial transactions.

  • As Deputy General Counsel and pre-launch founding team member at Virgin America, Inc. (Nasdaq: VA), he played an instrumental role in growing the startup airline from 58 to over 1,000 employees.

  • As Senior Counsel at Calpine, Inc. (NYSE: CPN), a clean power generator, he oversaw corporate and securities laws matters for this former S&P 500 company, including establishing its Sarbanes-Oxley compliance programs and managing a corporate structure with 400 entities worldwide.

  • Dan was also a Senior Associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Silicon Valley's preeminent law firm, representing technology companies in corporate, securities, and technology licensing matters, as well as venture capital firms and investment banks.
